Recent Ascot Suites Review: "This hotel has a good location. One thing to remember about staying in Morro Bay is that almost all of the hotels there are older and "motel" style inns. If the Ascot Suites were in any other major city, it would be just a simple 3 star or less...but I think it is one of the better hotels in Morro Bay. The place is relatively clean, although parking may be limited during the busy months. I went there during the last week of December and there was enough parking. The hotel is a short walk to the Embarcadero and we had a nice view of the Rock from our room. Every room has a cozy fireplace (just an on/off switch, but real fire) and it's a nice place for couples as there is a connecting window from the bathtub to the bedroom area so you can chat with your significant other while she/he is taking a bath. There is a jacuzzi style bathtub, but I was hesitant to turn it on as it was pretty loud. The only complaint would be that the bathtub is way too narrow to be a relaxing jacuzzi, especially if you're over 5'11". If the weather is nice, they have a simple patio on the 4th level rooftop and it has a nice view of the Rock and water. I saw other reviews complaining about the rooftop and how dirty it was...but it wasn't that bad. It's not set up for you to eat or dine...it's just a simple patio with chairs and table to enjoy the view. There's also a jacuzzi on the roof, but I'm not sure if it was always accessible. Overall, I would book this place again on my next visit to Morro Bay."
